| Specimen | 10 mL (5 mL min.) aliquot of 24-hour urine. Add 25 ml of 50% acetic acid as preservative at the start of collection. Add Record 24 hour volume on container and test request form. If 24hr urine is collected in multiple containers, it needs to be pooled before measuring the volume. Refrigerate specimen during and after collection. |
